Patterns are found throughout nature. We follow patterns as a race in all aspects of society in an attempt to predict how our future will turn out. Religion ties into this in many ways. As does economics. We are OF Nature. Nature goes through cycles so inevitably so must we. Quotes from the movie "Pi": 1.) "Mathematics is the language of nature,...everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers,...if you graph the numbers of any system patterns emerge,...therefore there are patterns everywhere in nature." 2.) "If you want to find the number 216 in the world you will be able to find it everywhere, 216 steps from your street corner to your front door, 216 seconds you spend riding on the elevator. When your mind becomes obsessed with anything you will filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere." ***************************** All of these words (above) are the thoughts of my collaborator and fellow YouTuber irakaur who suggested this particular video project on the subject of "PATTERNS". I really enjoyed making this video with Ira's help. Good job, Ira! The "violence" I speak of is actually a reference to the strikingly obvious impact craters on the MOON. But what about THE EARTH? Is the Earth subject to the same relentless pelting? Clue: We can more readily SEE this "pattern" on the moon... YOU be the judge. The Pattern of Violence, a story about my friend the librarian who could not understand why debris from space impacts the moon but not the Earth. As you will see, my interest is in really in the field of human psychology! In Pat's case, the error was not an obsession but rather the inability to detect a pattern partially obscured by the effects of time and cycles of Nature. Pattern detection is similar to the idea of intentionality. The failure to correctly interpret a pattern (or, conversely, to "see" a pattern that is NOT REAL) is not due to any lack of intelligence. It is due to THE KIND OF BRAIN we humans possess. When Global Warming Believers attribute EVERYTHING to "anthropogenic forcing", I, as a student of the BRAIN observe the observer. For example, sky watchers have reported an increase in noctilucent cloud formation. When Global Warming "enthusiasts" automatically blame high altitude ice clouds on the "evil activities" of Man, I take note of the BRAIN making the observations! And I "detect a PATTERN" OF BEHAVIOR! (Your SUV is causing ice in the mesosphere???)
